The cover of this spiral reporters' notepad shows Katsushika Hokusai’s colourful woodblock print ‘Lesser Cuckoo and Azaleas’ (Hototogisu Satsuki).

Hokusai (1760-1849) was a Japanese printmaker of the Edo period, best known for the iconic print ‘The Great Wave Off Kanagawa’. ‘Lesser Cuckoo and Azaleas’, depicting a garden of orange azaleas and a lesser cuckoo in flight, was created around 1828 and forms part of Hokusai’s 'Small Flowers' print series.
