'Shin hanga' is a 20th century art movement which revitalised the popularity of the Japanese woodblock print. Three of the cards are of a popular theme of 'Bijin-ga' or beautiful person picture, one of which has a black cat. Also in the collection is a beautiful black cat design with a sinuous tail reminding us of 'Maneki-neko', the beckoning lucky cat.
